Last week in science Ms. Raina gave the girls a challenge: create a free-standing, 45cm tower without using tape or staples. Ms. Raina started with a read aloud about the properties and features of towers. The girls were assigned pairs to work in, and once they had completed their tower they were subjected to the wind test! This meant that their tower had to withstand the fan being blown directly at their tower. It was much more difficult than it sounds!
Ms. Raina began with a read aloud on the features that make towers successful.
A sturdy base is the most important part!
Testing out some different strategies
Nice base girls!
Check it out Ms. Claire!
Woohoo! Successfully passed the wind test!
We did it!!
